Review: Boscia Konjac Cleansing Sponge

I am in my late 20's with combination skin. I have very sensitive and particular skin, and I prefer to use products that are paraben free. I have severely dry patches on my chin and around my nose and oddly enough between my eyebrows. I also am acne prone on my cheeks, especially during that "special time" of the month.

I always wanted to try a clarisonic brush, but with its price point I was hesitant. Considering how sensitive my skin could be, I was afraid to invest the money. I tried a hand held brush from sephora. At first, I loved it. My skin felt soft immediately after using it, and I noticed my skin clearing up. I just paired it with my cleanser (Josie Maran cleansing oil), and brushed in a soft circular motion. Over time my face wasn't responding to the brush and I was breaking out again.

Introducing the Boscia Konjac Cleansing Sponge! I love this product because it's made by 100% all natural konjac root.

After the first use, literally within a few hours I noticed a change in my skin. It looked brighter and my blemishes were diminishing. I believe paired with the perfect cleanser... It's a duo that is unstoppable. Some reviews on sephora.com even preferred this product over the clarisonic!

I think it's definitely worth a try, especially at the price of only $18.

Good luck! And feel free to comment below!

Description from sephora.com
WHAT IT IS:
A pillow-soft sponge made with natural, high-quality ingredients that cleanses and exfoliates to deliver smoother, softer, brighter-looking skin.

WHAT IT DOES:
As the leader in botanical science, boscia continues to innovate with Japanese heritage in mind. Using only the purest, highest quality ingredients, they have successfully created the new standard for cleansing. The efficient boscia Konjac Cleansing Sponge is made from 100 percent preservative-free konjac root from the pristine, idyllic Jeju Island in Korea. Konjac root is an Asian-cultivated, root-based vegetable that the Japanese have traditionally used as a detoxifying dietary staple, and as a calming, exfoliating sponge for delicate skin. It is naturally alkaline and balances the acidity of the skin’s impurities and oils while being enriched with protein, carbohydrate, iron, phosphorus, copper, zinc, vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin D, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, vitamin C, and folic acid. Gentle enough for the most sensitive skin types, this naturally deep-cleansing, pH balanced sponge can be used throughout the face, neck, and even the very delicate undereye area.

WHAT IT IS FORMULATED WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Phthalates

WHAT ELSE YOU NEED TO KNOW:
The konjac root has been a part of Japanese beauty rituals for over 1,500 years. In fact, the first known use of the konjac root traces back to Japan, the birthplace of boscia. Brought first and exclusively to Sephora, it is the only 100 percent preservative-free cleansing sponge available in North America. Because of the unique, unblemished environment, the konjac root and bamboo charcoal ingredients sourced from Jeju Island are the purest in the world. The island itself has a sublime, temperate climate, and is home to dense, luxurious forests with over 1,800 species of flora. One of the least polluted environments on earth, the water of Jeju Island is known as the purest in the world, purified by filtering through the natural volcanic rock. This pristine water nourishes the soil, making it nutrient-rich and perfect for growing the highest quality ingredients that can only be found there.
